Brewers v Derby: Preview

23 July 2013

The Brewers welcome Nigel Clough’s Derby County to the Pirelli Stadium this evening for the first home match of what promises to be another exciting campaign; kick-off 7:45pm.

It’s the first of two home fixtures for the Brewers in the space of a week, with Walsall the visitors to Burton this coming Friday; 7:30pm start.

Supporters will get the opportunity to see plenty of new faces in both the Brewers and the Rams ranks this evening with a host of Albion players set to run out at the Pirelli for the first time; whilst goalkeeper Chris Dunn may also feature having played during Burton’s first pre-season outing at Ilkeston FC.

The Brewers’ previous outings so far have included matches against Ilkeston FC, Alfreton Town and Nuneaton Borough as well as a behind closed doors 2-0 defeat at Stoke City on Saturday.

Despite heavy rain overnight and this morning the pitch is in good condition and the match will go ahead; with both seating and terracing tickets available from the ground.

For the visitors’ part, the Rams are set to arrive with a strong squad and the Pride Park outfit - who finished 10th in the Championship last year - will undoubtedly prove stern opposition for Gary Rowett’s men.
