Academy links up with Belper Town

7 June 2013

The Burton Albion Football Club Academy has announced a formal link with Belper Town Juniors Football Club.

The official link between the Academy and Belper Town has been created for the purpose of player development and recruitment of young players between 7 and 18 in the Midlands area.

Brewers' Academy coaches will direct players who show potential to continue their development at Belper Town Juniors FC as well as offering promising Belper Town Junior FC players the opportunity to enter the Academy.

Burton Albion Academy Coordinator Sam Rose said ‘We are delighted to announce the formation of this partnership with Belper Town Juniors FC.

‘It is important for us as an Academy to ensure that we have a robust player pathway and this link will enhance the prospects of both clubs' junior age groups. We are looking forward to working with Belper Town Juniors FC to this end.’

Mark Alcock, Belper Town Juniors Head Coach added ‘We are delighted to be working with Burton Albion's Academy. The link up has seen opportunities for players in both directions and we look forward to continuing to develop the relationship.

‘The link has also provided us an opportunity to gain coaching knowledge and techniques from the Academy's highly experienced coaches.’
