The 2013/14 Football League fixtures have been announced with Burton Albion facing an away trip to Cheltenham Town on the opening day of the campaign on Saturday, 3rd August.
The Brewers first match at the Pirelli Stadium will take a place a week later against Rochdale on Saturday, 10th August.
Burton face back-to-back home games in September when Gary Rowett’s men entertain Oxford United and 2008 FA Cup winners Portsmouth on the 7th and 14th September respectively.
Other highlights include a home match against Northampton Town on Boxing Day before the Brewers return to the Pirelli three days later on Sunday, 29th December to take on newly-promoted Newport County.
The festive schedule concludes with an away trip to another promoted side, Mansfield Town, on New Year’s Day.
The Brewers face long midweek trips in 2014 to Torquay United on Tuesday, 28th January and Portsmouth on Tuesday, 11th March.
Burton face home games against Plymouth Argyle, Hartlepool United and Chesterfield in April as the season reaches its finale, before travelling to Southend United on the final day of the season on Saturday, 3rd May.
