Brewers take part in YMCA Day

7 June 2013

Friday 31st May saw dozens of individuals from local businesses dress up for charity in Burton’s Octagon Shopping Centre – and the Brewers’ Bar Manager Ben Robinson Jnr was one of them!

The town’s MP and Burton Albion supporter Andrew Griffiths and Mayor of East Staffordshire, Michael Rodgers joined businesses, supported by the Chamber of Commerce, to perform the Village People’s classic YMCA dance.

On-looking shoppers were treated to the dance - based on the famous 1978 disco hit - with all money raised going towards Burton YMCA’s work with the homeless in the Reconnect Centre, in James Street; a very worthwhile cause.

Ben Robinson Jnr is pictured with Andrew Griffiths MP alongside two YMCA staff. The former decided to dress as a builder whilst our local MP was unmistakably kitted out in cowboy attire! Cops, Cherokee and Sailors were the other dressing up options available.
