Burton release seven

6 May 2013

Burton Albion can confirm that seven players have been released from the squad.

Long-serving trio Aaron Webster, Andy Corbett and John McGrath are three players to leave the Pirelli; with Nathan Stanton, Adi Yussuf and academy graduates Evan Garnett and Jack Green also released.

Webster has been with the club since 1998 and is the club's second highest appearance maker; whilst the 2011/12 season saw the left-back score his 100th goal for the club.

Andy Corbett celebrates his Testimonial on Tuesday in a match against Derby County at the Pirelli Stadium, 7:30pm kick-off, having been signed by Nigel Clough in November 2003.

Former captain John McGrath joined the Brewers in 2007 and, along with Webster and Corbett, was a vital part of the squad that won promotion to the Football League in 2008/2009.

Nathan Stanton was a summer arrival from Rochdale in 2010, Adi Yussuf joining in August 2011 whilst Evan Garnett and Jack Green were both graduates of the Brewers' Scholarship squad.

Manager Gary Rowett commented: 'I would like to thank the players leaving the club for their efforts and wish them all the best for the future.

'Special mention must go to Aaron, Andy and John, who have been mainstays for the club down the years and have all made big contributions to Burton Albion Football Club.'
