England v Japan getting closer

15 May 2013

England's Women to play against Japan at the Pirelli Stadium on Wednesday 26th June

The Three Lions will face world champions Japan at Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium on Wednesday 26th June, England's final warm-up match before they fly to Sweden.

The fixture is the second of two testing home internationals as Hope Powell prepares her side for Euro 2013. They recently secured a 1-0 victory over Olympic bronze medalists Canada in Rotherham on 7 April and will now face a stern test against the Japanese in their final warm-up match before they fly to Sweden.

The game forms part of FA150 celebrations, helping to mark a special year for The Football Association - the governing body’s 150th anniversary and 20 years since they took over the running of the women’s game.

It is the first time that a Senior Women’s international has come to Burton and the Lionesses are hoping that children and football fans from across the land will come out with England flags waving and make sure it is a roaring success.

This match will kick-off at 1.45pm to give as many school groups as possible the chance to see some of the best female players in action, although tickets are available to everyone.

Tickets are priced at only £5 for adults and £2.50 for Under-16’s/Over 65’s, with family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) at just £10. Children Under-12 go free with an accompanying adult paying full price.

Group discounts are available for 15 people or more at £3 for adults and £2 for concessions.

To purchase tickets contact the ticket office on 01283 565938.

Payment will be taken at the time of booking and tickets will be distributed in due course.
