Swiss goalkeeper joins from Villa
Burton Albion Football Club can confirm the signing of Benjamin Siegrist on a one-month loan deal from Premier League side Aston Villa.
The 21-year-old is a Switzerland Under 21 international and was promoted to the Aston Villa first-team squad at the start of the 2012/13 season.
Siegrist was also part of the Switzerland squad at the London 2012 Olympics.
Burton Albion manager Gary Rowett said: “We have been watching Benjamin for some time now, Kevin Poole, Kevin Summerfield and I have all watched him and have been impressed.
“We’re always interested in strengthening our squad and at six foot four inches tall he is a big goalkeeper and has some good attributes.
“We now have two excellent young goalkeepers who are both there to challenge each other and will both be looking to start matches.”
Siegrist will wear the number one shirt.
