McCrory ready for Daggers date

15 November 2013

Left-back set for familiar faces

Albion left-back Damien McCrory will be back in familiar surroundings when the Brewers head south to face Dagenham & Redbridge tomorrow and the 23-year-old is eager to get one over his old side.

McCrory spent three seasons at tomorrow's hosts before joining Albion in June 2012 and the defender cannot wait to face some of his former teammates.

He said: "I always like to go back to the Daggers and play against them, there's not much between us in the league at the minute so it's an important game for us to get three points and push up the table further.

"It'll be interesting especially because I know quite a few of the players who are still there, it's always strange going back playing against your old buddies.

"It'll be nice to get a win there," he added.

The young attacking full-back is confident the Brewers can take their form into tomorrow's clash at Victoria Road after overcoming Hereford United 2-0 in the first round of the FA Cup on Sunday.

"I've had a few texts but you know it always happens, I'll probably get a few more leading up to the game on Saturday.

"I'm sure I'll talk to a few of them on Saturday, we're hopeful going there and we're going into the game on the back of a win in the FA Cup so three points will be very nice," said McCrory.

Having spent three seasons and making over 80 appearances for the Daggers McCrory is only too aware of the threat Wayne Burnett's side can cause.

"They will be in our face they're a direct team and have got loads of energy and they do everything very quickly.

"It'll be a very tough game for us especially because they're on a good little run at the minute as well.

"I think we've got all the attributes to go and get three points there," he explained.
