Over football ahead of Mansfiedl match

Are you over 50? Would you like to keep active and play football? Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT) offer an over 50s walking football session each Tuesday evening.

The football sessions have been set up in partnership with the FA’s Mars Just Play.

Taking place at De Ferrers Academy, Trent Campus from 6pm until 7pm, the session is open to anyone of the age of 50 and over and will be adapted to suit the participants.

This Tuesday, November 26, BACT will be offering anyone who attends the walking football session the chance to go and watch Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium against Mansfield Town following the session.

This Tuesday the times will be 5.30pm to 6.30pm, participants will have the opportunity to freshen up at the facility and then make their way the stadium. This opportunity will be available each Tuesday evening game at Pirelli Stadium for the remainder of the 2013/14 season.

When there isn’t a Burton Albion FC match, the times will be as normal, from 6pm to 7pm.

Burton Albion Community Trust’s Chris Prince said: “It’s a great way for participants to keep active and have some fun playing football.

"Before the sessions began, many approached about walking football reacted in the same way, assuming the game would be slow, but actually they have found it to be challenging and enjoyable.”

The session will be every Tuesday evening until further notice and costs £4 each week.
