Brewers extend Pickford loan

15 October 2013

Burton Albion have reached an agreement to retain the services of Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford until Monday, 9th December.

Pickford, who has represented England at youth level on 33 occasions, was brought to the club on the eve of the 2013/14 campaign and played three times before returning to his parent club for treatment on a knee injury.

Since returning to the Pirelli Stadium, the Washington-born stopper has added a further five appearances for the Brewers and has impressed between the sticks.

Burton Albion Manager Gary Rowett commented: ‘Jordan has settled very well at the club and we’re delighted that he’ll be staying with us.

He’s a talented young goalkeeper who continues to improve and I am sure he’ll prove to be a real asset in the months ahead.'
