Community Trust receive Business Award

18 October 2013

Burton Albion Community Trust have been crowned 2013 Small Business of the Year at the prestigious annual Burton Mail Business Awards.

The evening, held at Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium, was a celebration of local business and, having been initially nominated for the award, BACT were worthy winners of the category; which is open to any business with between 11 and 20 employees.

The achievement is a reflection of the success of the Burton Albion Community Trust, who launched their Inspire, Engage, Educate strategy in February and now engage with up to 2,000 people in the local community every single week across five main themes of Participation, Social Inclusion, Disability, Education and Health.

Awards Director Dave Bryon commented: ‘The standard of the finalists was truly exceptional and the judging panels were amazed at the quality, success and growth of all the businesses in all the categories.

Burton Albion Community Trust Chair Fleur Robinson added: ‘This is a magnificent achievement for the Trust and is reward for the tremendous dedication and hard work from everybody involved.

‘To have BACT’s valuable work in the local community recognised is extremely rewarding as we continue to use the power of Burton Albion to make a difference to the lives of people in our community.’
