Sky Bet League 2 Market Moves

17 October 2013

Fleetwood Town’s 1-1 draw at Sky Bet League 2 leaders Chesterfield saw their title odds shorten whilst simultaneously pushing out the price of the favourites.

Frontrunners Chesterfield drifted out from 7/4 to 2/1 following the result, with the Cod Army now 11/4 having been 100/30 heading into the weekend.

Jon Parkin’s late equaliser ensured only a point remains between the sides and the 32-year-old substitute was 13/2 with Sky Bet to score last.

Meanwhile, Oxford were the biggest beneficiaries of the draw as it allowed them to close the gap on the front two courtesy of their 2-0 win over Northampton.

The result moved Oxford back up to third place and saw their title odds cut from 10/1 to 7/1, while they’re now 7/4 from 2/1 to gain promotion.

Meanwhile, Rochdale and Morecambe did their promotion hopes no harm with a win apiece, taking advantage of points dropped by Exeter and Mansfield.

The Dale were 100/30 but now read 11/4 following their 3-0 win over Newport, but Morecambe’s 2-0 away win at Bury ensured they were one of the biggest movers of the weekend, in to 7/1 from 11/1 to be promoted.

Elsewhere, Wycombe improved their chances of finishing inside the top seven with a 3-2 win over Torquay, having trailed 2-1 at the break.

Wanderers were 7/1 to finish in the promotion spots but are now 5/1, while they defied odds of 28/1 by coming back from a half-time deficit to gain three points.

Burton striker Billy Kee remains the 12/1 favourite to top the Sky Bet League 2 scoring charts, despite being sent off for two bookable offences against Southend on Saturday.
