UEFA Women's U17 draw in Burton tomorrow

23 October 2013

The countdown to the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship Final has begun. 

On Thursday 24th October the final draw will take place at Burton Town Hall from 2.30pm. 

The eight teams confirmed are England already through as hosts and Scotland, Spain, Austria, Germany, France, and Italy as group winners from the elite stage. Best runners-up Portugal join the final draw.

The tournament runs from 26 November - 8 December 2013 at AFC Telford United, Burton Albion FC, Chesterfield FC and Hinckley Stadium. This tournament is the pinnacle competition in Europe for this age group, as well as being a qualifying tournament for the 2014 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Costa Rica next spring. This is the first finals The FA has hosted since 2005 UEFA Women’s European Championship and is part of FA 150 year celebrations.

Following the draw there will be opportunities to get reaction to the match schedule and discuss the tournament with UEFA, FA and national team coaches.

At 12.30pm Sue Smith and Faye White will be paying a visit to Outwoods Primary School. The youngsters who are very excited to be hosting the tournament on their doorstep, will get to take part in a special coaching session with the former England players and photography with the prestigious trophy. They will receive top tips in a skills and drills session, get an insight into all aspects of the tournament and have the chance to ask their burning questions about what it is like to play for England.
