Pickford back at the Pirelli

13 September 2013

England U19s keeper Jordan Pickford has returned to Burton Albion on loan.

The Sunderland keeper, who has represented his country 33 times at various youth levels, played in three matches in all competitions for the Brewers before a minor knee injury resulted in a recall to the North East.

However the Washington-born stopper has returned from injury and has spent the last week training with the Barclays Premier League side’s first team.

The 19-year-old will be available for selection for Burton Albion’s match at home to Portsmouth on Saturday.

Burton Albion Manager Gary Rowett commented: ‘Jordan impressed us during his brief time with us and we are delighted to have him back; whilst in his absence it has been pleasing to see Dean Lyness get a run of games under his belt and he has done very well.

‘It was always our intention to bring Jordan back to the club after his initial spell was cut short and we believe he will improve our squad.’
