Defender previews Plymouth clash

Defender David Gray is seeing the last six games as a cup final with this weekend’s crunch game against Plymouth the start of an exciting finish for Albion.

Gray said: “Confidence comes with our results if you look at where we are in the table and the teams we’ve played against recently the way were playing, there’s no reason not to be confident. There’s a real togetherness in the camp and we strive only to go forward.”

Having played at Home Park, many players would be caught up in playing against their former team however the 25 year old is insistent on the task ahead.

“I really enjoyed my time there; it’s a really good club, obviously though I’m more interested in beating them on the weekend to be honest so that’s what it’s more importantly about.” Gray said.

Likely to come up against one of the top scorers in the league in Reuben Reid, Gray knows of the task he will face but he believes it’s the Brewers who are the team in form.

“I think every game is difficult, there are obviously more difficult ones in different ways, a team full of confidence like Plymouth.  The way I see it though is every run has to come to an end and that’s the motivation I used going into last Saturday against York and I think we were the better team so we come into this game full of confidence.“

Having made the move on the final day of January, the former Manchester United Trainee is enjoying his new start at the Pirelli and life under Gary Rowett.

“It’s been good, I came here to play games and I’ve had to be patient to try and get into the team. I’ve obviously been asked to play in a position now and I’m playing and working hard to stay there really and hope the team do well”
