New football website for smart fans

15 April 2014

New social network launching

Fanbookz, a new social community for football fans, has teamed up with Burton Albion and wants Brewers fans to get involved from this weekend.

The Fanbookz team have been chatting with Gary Rowett, Ben Robinson, Mike Whitlow, Rory Delap, Darren Moore – even Tom Sloan on the Burton Mail – to discover what Burton fans think of their team’s promotion chances and what they want from their social media.

You can register up until midnight on Wednesday April 16 to come on board this virtual home for supporters, designed so that you can share photographs, videos, comments and access the latest news, stats, games and prizes.

Burton Albion were approached as a fine example of a community club to be part of the
action over this Easter period. Fanbookz will select the most suitable responders and ask them to take an early look at the site from April18-29 and then to complete a brief user survey.

Read for the first time about why Rory Delap retired even though he felt he could have overcome his injury problems as he placed honour above money. Discover why Darren Moore believes chairmen up and down the country should book in a meeting with Ben Robinson if they want to know how to build a club up the right way.

As well as exclusive interviews, we want to hook up with you ahead of the Bank Holiday games with Hartlepool United and Newport County and find out the views of the people who matter most at any football club – the superfans. We will lead off from the most insightful and/ or amusing views of the people in the ground.

In gratitude for their input, everyone selected for the test group who completes the survey will receive a £10 voucher for the club shop. In addition, they will go into a draw for a pair of Pirelli Stadium season tickets for 2014/15. Other prizes will emerge from the various channels on the site over the trial.

If you are interested in taking part, please go to the link below - which can also be found on
Burton's social media platforms - and sign up between now and midnight on Wednesday April 16 2014. Fanbookz will then notify the selected supporters and email you a log-in and a
brief registration.

Then feel free to hook into the site from 11am on Friday April 18 - the site that will bring football fans everywhere together.
