Stroke Club raise £600 at Pirelli Stadium

The Burton Stroke Club held a collection prior to the recent Burton Albion fixture versus Plymouth Argyle, fourteen trustees and volunteers helped raise £600 through the bucket collection on the day.

Jo Williams from the Burton Stoke club said: "The money raised will ensure that the club can continue helping the stroke affected and their families in the local area, as well as going towards a visit to Blackpool Tower ballroom for their members later in the year for an afternoon tea and chance to dance to the sound of the Wurlitzer.

"As a purely self-sufficient club it is through such fundraising activities and opportunities such as this that we are able to continue to help the stroke affected of the local area as they go into their 40th year.

Burton Albion Chairman Ben Robinson commented: "We were delighted to support such a fantastic club and cause and once again our fans showed their generosity prior to the game."
