Stroke Club to hold collection

4 April 2014

Collection taking place before Plymouth game

The Burton and District Stroke club will be holding a collection prior to the Burton Albion fixture versus Plymouth Argyle this Saturday. The Stroke Club was established in 1975 and has grown over the past 39 years, to a membership of around 50 members who meet every fortnight, to enjoy the entertainment provided and socialise with people who are in a similar situation to themselves. As well as holding regular meetings they also hold regular outings, which have included a flight on The London Eye and visits to see most of the West End shows.

For the past 18 years the Stroke Club have run an annual weeks holiday for our members and their families and this year are going to Margate in September for a week. Throughout the week the club provide members with excursions each day and entertainment most nights, including a visit to the local theatre.

As a local club they constantly need the help and support of people in the local community and thank everyone attending the game and Burton Albion for raising awareness of their work and raise valuable funds.
