Brewers take Wolves winger on loan

Burton Albion Football Club has completed the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Zeli Ismail on a one-month loan deal, subject to paperwork.

The 20-year-old can play on either wing and has been with the Sky Bet League 1 club since the age of ten.

Ismail has also earned international recognition for England at under-16 and under-17 level.

The Wolverhampton youngster has made 11 appearances this season, including one in the FA Cup against Oldham Athletic.

Burton Albion manager Gary Rowett, said: “Zeli is a player who we have seen a lot when we’ve been to watch games at Molineux over the last year.

“He had a good spell at MK Dons last season and has featured in the first team for Wolves this season.

“Zeli can play on either wing and up front and he will offer us something different and hopefully have a big impact here.

“I am really excited to see him come and play for us, he has lots of tricks and pace and will cause problems for the opposition,” added Rowett.

Ismail will be cup-tied for Albion’s FA Cup tie against AFC Bournemouth on January 14 after appearing for Wolves in their 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Oldham Athletic.
