David Gray joins Albion

Burton sign David Gray from Stevenage

Burton Albion Football Club has completed the signing of Sky Bet League 1 defender David Gray on a permanent deal until the end of the season, subject to paperwork.

The right-back joins from Stevenage where he has made 12 appearances this season.

The 25-year-old is a product of the Manchester United youth system and has also enjoyed spells at Crewe Alexandra, Plymouth Argyle and Preston North End.

Manager Gary Rowett, said: “We have been looking at David for some time and is a player of real experience and has played a lot of football at a higher level.

“We’ve been looking to strengthen our defence and to create a bit of competition for Phil Edwards who has the shirt at the moment in that position.

“David can get forward well but also defend and he will at a bit more depth to our squad.

“He has League One quality just like Gary who we brought in earlier today.”

The timing of Gray’s signing means he will be unavailable for tomorrow’s Sky Bet League 2 match against Exeter City.
