BACT launch Enterprise Academy

27 March 2014

Burton Albion Community Trust teamed up with McVitie’s and local schools to launch the Burton Albion Enterprise Academy on Tuesday night. All parties gathered for the Brewers victory over Wycombe Wanderers to officially launch this exciting new programme.

The Enterprise Academy aims to help teach 10-19 year-olds the basic principles of business and self-employment. It comprises of ten lessons, helping young people understand business through a range of interactive learning opportunities both in the classroom and at football stadia. Sessions will include topics such as business objectives, publicity and advertising, customer service, products and services and steps to success.

Community Education Officer for Burton Albion Community Trust Paul Whitworth said ‘This is a great opportunity to use the hook of the football club to engage young people and introduce the concepts of business. Hopefully this will inspire young people to think about their future and guide them towards their chosen career path. I’d like to thank McVitie’s for their fantastic support in getting this programme off the ground and also to the schools who have already signed up and been really positive.’

If you are interested in booking this programme for your school, or require more information regarding any of the Trusts Education Programmes, please contact Paul Whitworth (Community Education Officer) at educationbact@burtonalbionfc.co.uk
