Women's Premier League cup final to be staged at stadium

Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium will host this year’s FA Women’s Premier League (FAWPL) Cup Final on Sunday 4 May.

The tournament is about to enter the semi-final stages, with the winners of Cardiff City v Coventry City and Preston North End v Sheffield FC set to meet in the final.

Tickets are priced at £5 for adults and £2.50 for children and concessions.  A £10 family ticket is also available (two adults and two children). The game kicks off at 2.30pm.

Last season’s league cup final finished in nail-biting fashion when Aston Villa beat Leeds United 5 – 4 on penalties.
Burton Albion chairman, Ben Robinson, said: “Burton Albion are really honoured to be hosting such a prestigious game at the Pirelli Stadium and we thank the Football Association for this exciting fixture when we look forward to welcoming some of the best women footballers playing in this country and a great occasion.”

Thura KT Win, chairman of the FA Women’s Premier League, said: “The FAWPL cup final is one of the major dates in the women’s football calendar and we’re looking forward to another great occasion.

“Burton Albion are a big supporter of women’s football, hosting the FA WSL Continental Cup and UEFA Women’s Under 17 Euros matches in recent years, and the Pirelli Stadium is a fantastic facility to host the league cup final in.

Tickets for the match will be available in person from the Club Shop at the Pirelli Stadium, or by phone on 01283 565938. Tickets will go on sale in due course.
