Defender Ian Sharps won the Supporters' Player of the Season Award 2013-14 at last season's Players Awards Dinner on Tuesday night. The event, held at the Pirelli Stadium, celebrated all aspects of the club as we reflected on another memorable season in the Football League.Â
Ian Sharps picked up the main award of the night, voted for by supporters, whilst full back Phil Edwards was runner-up.
Matty Palmer's strike against Hereford United was voted goal of the season from a shortlist of five, beating competition from Jack Dyer, Billy Kee, Adam McGurk and Zeli Ismail.
Jack O'Brien was awarded Scholar of the Season, whilst last Saturday's debutant Marcus Harness picked up Young Player of the Season award.
The evening was attended by over 200 people and hosted by BBC Football League Show presenter Manish Bhasin, and also saw Zeli Ismail's game changing performance at home to Cheltenham Town voted Individual Performance of the Season for 2013/14.
The work of the Burton Albion Community Trust was also recognised, and Jimmy Phillips won the award for BAFC Player in the Community.
Ian Sharps picked up Supporters' Player of the Season, but it was Damien McCrory who was voted Player of the Season by his teammates in the Players' Player category.
Billy Kee's haul of 14 goals earned him the Top Goalscorer award, and there was a fitting Service & Support Award for Kevin Fradley and John Brake, who have volunteered at the Club for over 25 years in various capacities, and currently help to stock the snack bars around the Pirelli Stadium.
