MATCH PREVIEW: BREWERS v SOUTHEND

10 May 2014

A look ahead to tomorrow's game

The play-offs are here again as Burton Albion take on Southend United in Sunday's lunchtime kick-off in the first leg at the Pirelli Stadium.

The Brewers got to this stage last season, beating Bradford City 3-2 in the first leg at Valley Parade, although a 3-1 defeat second time round saw Albion miss out on a spot at Wembley.

Gary Rowett has options available, with a fully fit squad bar Shane Cansdell-Sherriff and the long term absentee duo of Damien McCrory and Jimmy Phillips.

Rowett made five changes to his side for last week's league defeat to Southend, but is likely to recall Player of the Season Ian Sharps, top goalscorer Billy Kee and Adam McGurk will also be pressing for a recall after injury.

FANCY A FLUTTER?

Burton Albion are priced at 5/4 with Sky Bet to come out on top tomorrow, with Southend coming in at 9/4. A draw is also 9/4.

The Brewers have won 12 games this season by a 1-0 margin, and you can back them to do the same tomorrow at 11/2, whilst Billy Kee to score first is 9/2.

WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME

You don't need to go flicking through the archives to find the last meeting between these two sides. Only last weekend did they do battle on the coast as Barry Corr's early header earned the Shrimpers a 1-0 win.
