Who would have thought it? Burton Albion have made history by making it to league 1 for the first time since formation is 1950.

Chairman Ben Robinson has been with the club for over 40 years and has seen his club through the ups and the downs, but this will be by far his best memory of his time of the club.

Nigel Clough managed the Brewers for ten years, guiding them to the football league for the first time in the clubs history. Ben Robinson praised Clough and thanked him for setting these foundations which have allowed managers such as Rowett and Hasselbaink to achieve what they have done since.

"It is amazing isn't it?

"We look back over the years.

"It has been a long journey you know.

"We started in non-league and we look back at those ten years, those ten years that Nigel Clough gave that club.

"He set the foundations and that is one of the reasons we are here today and celebrating like we are."

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink inherited a fairly talented side, in fact it is rather similar to the side that have just won promotion to League 1 for the first time. His hard work hasn't gone un-noticed by the Burton Albion chairman.

"Gary Rowett was a brilliant manager for us.

"Jimmy inherited a brilliant squad full of players.

"He has tweaked it and put his own stamp on it.

"For him to achieve promotion in his first season as manager is very special."
