COOPER FAMILY THE FIRST TO RENEW

16 April 2015

BURTON Albion began their season ticket renewal period off on 15th March giving current season ticket holders until 15th April to guarantee their spot for the 2015/16 season.

Season tickets then went on sale on 15th April giving anybody the opportunity to purchase a season ticket with the Brewers.

The Early Birth Price Freeze guaranteed the lowest prices to see Burton Albion during 2014/15 - whatever league the Brewers are playing in next season.

The Cooper family were the first to renew for the 2015/16 season, renewing two adults and two under 12’s.

James Cooper, father of two said “We started first coming to Burton, I think it was in March.”

He went on to add “We brought the boys to their first game last year and I think it was my first game too and that was when they first got in to football to be honest.

“We just started bringing them to get them interested so they develop in football and so they get interested in their hometown team as well, it is where all three lads have been born.

“I’m not from round here, Sally isn’t and neither is my dad, we are all from round the UK.”

With Burton Albion only being founded 65 years ago, you are still able to find fans that have followed the club since day one, fan that were at the meeting in the Burton Town Hall where the Albion first formed.

When James was a young boy, his dad used to take him to watch Scarborough before he purchased a season ticket for Manchester United which I guess could have been more enjoyable had Man United clinched the Premier League title.

“My dad used to take me to watch Scarborough play football and I was a season ticket holder for Man United when I first came to Burton Albion but because all of my three boys have been born in Burton, I decided this is the club they should support.

“It has been great for us, we are only a half hours walk away.”

We have tried, once again to make Burton Albion one of the best value days out in the Football League. We have only increased our prices three time in ten years and James Cooper added that price wise, the Albion are unbeatable.

“Price wise, it is unbeatable and the entertainment as well is great.

“I would much rather come here than the places around us like Derby, Stoke Leicester and all the midlands clubs nearby.

“For me, especially now since Jimmy has come in, he has taken the standard of what Gary left behind and made it in to better entertainment.”
