TODAY'S GAME IS "MASSIVE" SAYS STUART BEAVON

6 April 2015

Today’s game could turn out to be a massive game for both sides, a six pointer in some ways.

At the time of writing, the Brewers have still got to travel to Plymouth and hopefully bring away all three points from down south, giving them the edge over promotion.

Being a former Wycombe player, Beavon knows just how big this game is for him and the team.

“It is massive.

“I have got a few friends at Wycombe.

“They are up there chasing us and it is a massive game.“

Expectations have been sky for around the town of Burton for a couple of seasons now, but it has been a different story for Wycombe. Last season Wycombe escaped relegation on goal difference, meaning that this season has been a dramatic improvement, reaching the automatics.

Stuart Beavon being a former player has been surprised with heir success.

“No to be honest, no they are not.

“They have done a hell of a lot better than I thought they would but credit to them.

“I knew Gareth Ainsworth, I played with him there and he has done a great job.

“To be honest, the players they have got, I’m not surprised where they are.”

To my surprise, Stuart Beavon has racked up the most assists in Sky Bet League 2 so far this season which just shows how important strikers like Beavon are to the team. Some strikers, as Beavon is about to explain, are used to set up goals which helps the team as much as scoring goals.

“I mean I have played with a few strikers in my time that have got more assists than goals.

“I played up front with Paul Hayes and to be honest with you, when I played with him he used to set up nearly all of my goals and I think that season is cored 26 and I think that is partly down to him so yes I think it is nice to have a bit of a mix in there.”
