What is the difference between preparing for the season as a manager and preparing for the season as a player?
Of course Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has prepared for a new season as a player many times, but this will be his first time preparing for a whole season as a manager.Just what are the differences in preperation?
"It is totally different." Hasselbaink said.
"As a player you don't think about anything, you just want to play.
"As a manager you need to plan.
"You need to think about your players, are they ok?"
Mobile phones are something managers are natural on nowadays due to incoming signings and ongoing discussions.
Hasselbaink admits that as a player, you don't have to worry about your wife goig made when you answer the phone.
"When you are at home and the phone goes, the wife goes mad because you pick it up...you don't have to worry about those things when you are a player."
