EDWARDS "WE ARE ADDING EXTRA QUALITY"

26 August 2015

A tiring game last night against Championship Middlesbrough ended in defeat in the Capital One Cup.

Despite going a goal in front, the Brewers couldn't keep two out at the other end but defender Phil Edwards thought his side played well, especially in the first half.

"I think the lads did well. They had a lot of possession but they didn't have many chances.

"Their subs had a massive threat and it was always going to be tough against them.

"To push them the way we did, everyone is taking full credit."

Fans and players alike are excited about the big teams that will be visiting the Pirelli Stadium this season in Coventry City, Sheffield United and Chesterfield. Edwards believes opposition this season are going to be tough.

"We have gone up a league now. The opposition we will face are going to be tougher.

"They scored a good goal in the last minute to be fair.

"In league one, when they get a chance they put it away as apposed to league two where they may miss the chance.

Only one clean sheet this season so far has been disappointing in the Brewers camp but Edwards told burtonalbionfc.co.uk the team are working every day to add that extra quality in order to grab the three points every time.

"We work week in week out to iron out and add the extra quality to the team.

"We have only kept one clean sheet so far which is disappointing so we are working on that.

"If you aren't performing on the Saturday or Tuesday, you know someone else can come in your position."
