FORMER ARSENAL DEFENDER TRAINING WITH BREWERS

19 August 2015

FORMER Arsenal and Middlesbrough defender Justin Hoyte is training with Burton Albion.

The experienced 30-year-old came through the Gunners youth set up and played in the Premiership for Arsenal and on loan at Sunderland before making a £3 million move to Middlesbrough in 2008.

More recently he has been back in London with Millwall.

Brewers manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says: “He is training with us. The deal is not done, there is nothing offered yet, he’s just getting fit, seeing if he likes it.

“He has experience and we need cover for Phil (Edwards), which we don’t really have. He can also play left back. Losing Kelvin Maynard was a big blow and we need a little bit of cover in that area.”
