Nasser signs deal with school pupils and staff
Nasser El Khayati, Burton Albionâs Dutch striker, signed his latest deal ahead of the Brewerâs first ever season in League One.Staff and pupils at The Pingle School in Swadlicote, raised money on a recent no-uniform day to sponsor the 26-year-old forward.
Deb Holland, assistant head teacher, at the school said of the deal: âNasser came to Pingle at the end of last season and was an instant hit with the pupils when he taught a language lesson. We noticed he didnât have a player sponsor and negotiated our own deal with the club. Once Nasser had signed his new playing contract our deal could be announced.
Nasser said: âEvery other player has a local company as sponsor but for me to be sponsored by the pupils and staff at a school is really special.
"Itâs extra special because I have visited the school and Pingle now really feels like âmy schoolâ.
"I read the match day programme in the build up to every game and I can now see that âmy schoolâ is getting right behind me and Iâm really pleased about that.â
