NASSER'S DOUBLE STRIKE EARNS PLAUDITS

21 August 2015

TWO great goals from Nasser El Khayati in the midweek win over Blackpool have seen the striker named League One Player of the Week.

The football website Shoot named the Brewers favourite as their midweek star for League One after he struck twice in the second half, the second from a glorious free kick.

Nasser has already admitted that Damien McCrory had wanted to take the free kick but he felt confident that he could make it count, which he did in spectacular fashion.

He now turns his attention to tomorrow's game against Peterborough.

"We have a lot of confidence and we are thinking that League One is there for us and we can do well but we keep our feet on their ground and know Saturday will be a tough game. I focus on my own game, my openings on the field. They are a good side, but we are a  good side as well."

And if there is another free kick just outside the area on offer against Peterborough?

"I'm not difficult in those things, if another player really wants to take it, he can. But I also think next game, why not?"

Another brace would be just fine for Albion fans

"It would be great for three goals on Saturday," he laughs.

Nasser is also enjoying playing football at League One level.

He says: "League One is more football and more for me. I'm really enjoying it, especially after scoring two goals and the match winner."
