On the Whistle match report from Bloomfield Road

18 August 2015

Burton Albion recorded a first away win in League One with a 2-1 victory at Blackpool.

Albion opened brightly and took the game to Blackpool without creating a clear cut chance.

But despite a lack of confidence and not having won since January, the Tangerines began to dominate the midfield and Brad Potts issued Albion with a warning as he fired just over the bar.

But after 26 mins the goal came with Jack Redshaw latching on to a Henry Cameron cross leaving McLaughlin stranded.

It could have been two a minute later but  Brad Potts' drive was saved by the Albion keeper.

After that the Brewers steadied and Timmy Thiele had a long range effort saved on 35 minutes but there was no clear cut opportunity to get back level.

Half time Blackpool 1 Albion 0

It was a different Albion in the second half as the Brewers took the game to Blackpool with Beavon and Thiele forcing saves from Letheren before Nasser El Khayati struck on 58 minutes with a right footed shot from the edge of the box.

It was just reward for the Brewers.

On 81 minutes Duffy put Beavon through but his shot was saved by Letheren when it looked like he would give Albion the lead.

But on 85 minutes Albion got the goal they  deserved. It was Nasser again with a unstoppable 25 yard free kick into the top corner.
