LUCAS Akins scored the final Burton Albion goal of 2015 to cap off what he describes as “a remarkable year” for Burton Albion.
After stroking home the penalty that secured the 1-0 win over Swindon, Akins reflected on a brilliant 12 months for the Brewers.
He said: “2015 has been a phenomenal year for us as a club. A lot has happened and we will look back in Burton Albion’s history and say that 2015 has been a really remarkable year and everyone can be proud of themselves – everyone behind the scenes, not just the playing staff.
"The club has come so far as a whole and hopefully we can continue that great work in 2016 as well.
“Nigel Clough has come in and put his own stamp on it but also carried on the good work of the previous two managers. He knows what the club is about and it’s the best appointment we could all have hoped for.
“Three games down the line, we are unbeaten and have seven points. Hopefully, that’s just the start of things to come.”
