BUTCHER AIMING TO SCORE MORE GOALS

21 December 2015

BREWERS midfielder Calum Butcher was delighted to have got his first two goals for the club against Doncaster Rovers.

After playing in a further forward midfield role the last two games, Butcher is hoping to score more goals.

“It’s great to have scored my first two goals for the club, I really enjoy playing further forward and hopefully this is the start of a run of goals for myself personally. I feel I should already have a couple this season.

“I’ve got to credit Tom Naylor for the first goal; he’s put in a lovely ball for me and that’s something he has in his locker.

“I think the formation suits us and myself and it helps knowing that Robbie or Anthony will be holding, allowing myself and the others to get forward and contribute to the side.

“We know our defending wasn’t great against Doncaster, so that’s where we will be looking to improve, however it is pleasing we scored three goals.”

Butcher also believes gaining a point very late on will benefit the team heading into the Christmas run in.

“The late goal by Mark keeps us unbeaten in five and the momentum going within the group. We are now looking forward to the three games in seven days.”
