CLOUGH PRAISES A "VERY WELL RUN CLUB" IN BURTON ALBION

9 December 2015

NIGEL Clough has been away from the Pirelli Stadium for seven years before he made his return yesterday as he took the reins for a second time.

The football club has since been promoted to Sky Bet League One under the guidance of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink but Clough insists he isn't surprised how well the club has done.

"If you look at a lot of clubs, many of them don't run things as well as things are run here." Said Clough. He added "It's a very well run club.

"If somebody asked me what one of the problems over the past 6 years has possibly been during my management period, then I would say possibly the owners, but I don't have that problem here."

The Brewers currently have four players on loan in Mark Duffy, Remi Matthews, Jerome Binnom-Williams and Zeli Ismail of which three of their deals expire in January.

"This is something that we will get on to straight away." Said Clough.

"We know we have to sort this out and we have the likes of Zeli Ismail who is a few weeks away, but we hope he can still be involved."
