MCCRORY DELIGHTED TO BE ON THE SCORESHEET

3 December 2015

BREWERS defender Damien McCrory is delighted to be back with a goal and to help the team to their third win in a row.

The Irishman opened the scoring in the 2-1 home win against Milwall helping the Brewers go top of League One.

“I’ve been waiting for that goal all season since the start and it was brilliant to get it straight away after a little lay off with injury.

"We had been working on a similar free kick routine in training but I wasn’t meant to be the one on the end of it when practiced. Mous told me to go forward and he’d block the marker off and I am delighted that the strike went in.”

McCrory is disappointed that there isn’t a league game now until December 12 with the team on such a good run of form at the minute.

“It is a big shame that there isn’t a fixture this weekend or even a mid week match but there are no league games at all so going into the next match knowing we are top brings more confidence.

"The lads are obviously disappointed that we aren’t in the FA Cup after the defeat to Peterborough but we have put that disappointment to bed and put our entire focus into the league which we have done very well lately.

"However, due to the lads having played three games in seven days, the break will ensure that we as a squad are all ready to go at away at Gillingham, which will no doubt be another tough battle with a team who will be hoping to be in and around the top of the table.”
