McLAUGHLIN SAID: "IT'S NICE WHEN YOU SAVE A PENALTY"

23 December 2015

JON McLaughlin managed to get his left hand to a Doncaster Rovers penalty on Saturday to keep the score at 1-1 in a vital point in the game.

The penalty proved to be a turning point in the game as the Brewers then went on to take the lead just moment later.

The ex-Bradford stopper said: “It’s nice when you can save a penalty. It's like scoring a goal.

“It was nice at the time in a key moment in the game when it's 1-1.”

There was nothing that McLaughlin could have done to keep out Paul Keegan’s wonder free-kick on 70 minutes.

Jon said: “In the end it's more gutting when they bend a free kick in the top corner.

“From our point of view we prefer to not face them at all and keep clean sheets so when we do score three goals we win games.”
