YOUNG PROSPECT FERGUSON JOINS BREWERS

2 December 2015

BURTON Albion have signed highly-rated young midfielder Nathan Ferguson on a two-and-a-half-year-deal.

The 20-year-old has been playing non-league football with Grays Athletic but his progress has been followed by a number of Football League clubs, marking him out as a genuine prospect.

But it is the Brewers who have secured Ferguson’s signature after he spent a week training with the Albion first team squad.

Ferguson has resurrected his football career at Isthmian League Grays after originally coming through the youth ranks at Dagenham.

A box-to-box midfield player, his energy and versatility makes him an ideal recruit for Burton Albion.

The player is delighted to have been offered a deal by the Brewers.

He says: “I came in for a week to train and I really liked the atmosphere and all the lads made me feel very welcome. I was very keen to come here and work with the squad at Burton.”

He was also impressed with St George’s Park.

He says: “It’s a great place to train and having those kind of facilities is another bonus. I had never seen St George’s Park before I came here and I was really happy with that.”
