JIMMY FLOYD HASSELBAINK - "WE LOOKED VERY COMFORTABLE"

7 February 2015

The Brewers were 3-1 winners over Cheltenham Town.

Goals from Phil Edwards and two from Adam McGurk gave the Brewers a 3-1 victory over Cheltenham Town. Phil Edwards scored for the second week running from yet another set-piece. The Brewers were in control of the match for most of the game. Boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said
"We looked in control and we looked very comfortable.
"When you are very comfortable, there is always a danger. When you aren't going 100 miles per house and you back off, it gives them a chance and that is how they scored
"After the goal, you saw the lads heads concentrate again, they played with organisation and started to control the game again"

The match was at one point in doubt of going ahead when pitch inspections at 9.30, 11.00 and 11.30 were not satisfactory. It wasn't until 1.30 that the referee said the game is to go ahead. Most of the Brewers fans were late arrivers at Whaddon Road due to the late decision for the match to go ahead.

With the poor surface in mind, Hasselbaink said they had to "make it work" in such poor conditions.
"We have to make it work. We have got players with certain qualities and we have to play to our strengths
"These players need to have the ball, they need to do things with it and we need to accomodate them
"Yes it was a poor pitch but we needed to try and give the opposition those kinds of problems and I think at times we did that really well"
