JOHN MOUSINHO | "TEAMS ARE GOING TO SET UP AND DEFEND"

12 February 2015

After the Brewers were held to a 0-0 draw to AFC Wimbledon, captain John Mousinho was convinced that the visitors came for a point.

“AFC Wimbledon came here for the draw, you could see that from the start but they had some really dangerous moments on the counter attack so credit to them for executing their plan well.

“I think once they went down to ten men, it became even more difficult for us as they sat deeper

“They weren’t getting out that much apart from the occasional counter attack which we had to be wary of so yes it was a frustrating night especially because our home form has been so good and we have been scoring goals so a point wasn’t the worst result in the world.”

It is now being recognized by supporters that all teams to face the Brewers are approaching the game differently, by sitting back and inviting us on to them and giving us respect. Mousinho believes that the team are going to see a lot more of that, especially when playing at the Pirelli.

“I think we are going to see that approach from more teams this season which is something that we have to be ready to expect when we are at home.

“Teams are going to be set up and be defensively solid and try to frustrate us.

“We are going to look at how to break teams down whilst also being solid at the back as obviously clean sheets are going to win us games too.”
