MacDonald is one of four players nominated for Player Of The Month
Today Sky Bet have released their nominations for December's Player Of The Month.Nominations for the Sky Bet League 2 are;
Paris Cowan-Hall (Wycombe Wanderers) – striker
Has flourished since moving into an attacking trio. Able to run at defenders using his explosive pace and trickery, he has added goals. The pick of his three was a superb long-range curler in the 1-1 draw at Accrington Stanley. Joined Championship club Millwall on a two-and-a-half-year deal on January 5.
Nathaniel Knight-Percival (Shrewsbury Town) – central defender
The 27-year-old has embraced Mickey Mellon’s 3-5-2 zonal formation to spread a calming influence on his team-mates, reading the game, breaking up play and using his pace to good effect as Shrewsbury kept four clean sheets in as many games.
Alex MacDonald (Burton Albion) – winger
His tricky wing play was instrumental in Burton retaining their place in the automatic promotion places, setting up a goal against Exeter City with a fine run and scoring twice in the 4-0 win over Hartlepool United, including a sumptuous curler.
Luke Summerfield (York City) - midfielder
York were unbeaten in his three games. A creative force, his distribution and long passing were impressive but it was his two goals - a stunning free-kick equaliser at Bury and a sweet half-volley at Carlisle United - which caught the eye.
The winner will be announced on Friday 9th January 2015.
