INJURY UPDATE FROM PHYSIO NICK FENTON

19 January 2015

JOE DOYLE
Doyle suffered Achilles tendonitis in a reserve game against Hartlepool United Reserves on Wednesday 7th January. He is settling down now and will be hoping to be back training by the end of the week.

SHANE CANSDELL-SHERRIFF
Cansdell-Sherriff has been out for four weeks with a calf strain now. He is doing very well, he has been running today and should be back by the end of the week with a view to being in the squad for Saturday’s away trip to York City.

JIMMY PHILLIPS
Phillips went for a minor operation today to remove an anchor from his surgery last May. He is hoping to be back training and playing in the next two or three weeks.

DEAN LYNESS
Lyness broke his leg in November but is doing very well. He is back running and is coming on brilliantly. Dean has worked hard with the physio Nick Fenton and should hopefully be back within six weeks.

ALEX MacDONALD
Macca has been out for nearly four weeks but has been training for the past week but hasn’t been passed fit for a game because he isn’t running too well yet due to the deep gash in his leg. Saturday is a realistic target for Alex MacDonald to be back in the squad.

LUCAS AKINS
Akins is over his injury now and is focusing on returning to his full fitness. He has made a couple of substitute appearances for the first team and has played two games for the Reserves.
