Blackburn midfielder to remain with Brewers to February 7th
Burton Albion manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has reached an agreement with Sky Bet Championship side Blackburn Rovers to extend the loan spell of midfielder Darragh Lenihan until February 7th.Although brought to the club by previous boss Gary Rowett it was Hasselbaink who handed the Republic of Ireland under 21 international his full Football League debut in his first game as Brewers boss, the televised clash with Wycombe Wanderers. Since then the 20 year old has gone from strength to strength, impressing the Albion manager with his tigerish performances.
“I am very happy with Darragh” said Hasselbaink, “He is a young boy but he is playing as a man and it is very important that we keep him and luckily Blackburn have given us the permission to extend it.”
“At the moment it is only until February 7th but hopefully we can then negotiate again.”
