NASSER EL KHAYATI JOINS THE BREWERS UNTIL THE END OF THE SEASON

29 January 2015

BURTON Albion have signed Dutch forward Abdenasser El Khayati (Nasser) from Kozakken Boys on a contract until the end of the season.

Nasser started his career at PSV Eindhoven back in the 2008/09 season before moving onto several clubs and finally being brought to the Brewers by Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

The 25-year-old 6ft forward can play in several positions, mainly across the front three.

Nasser has score ten goals in ten games so far this season for Kozakken Boys.

Manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said “He is a player that a lot of people have been looking at in Holland, he has been on trial at Reading and has done really well.

He came here to train with us for a few days, we liked him. He is a striker but can play on the wing. He is a creative player, somebody who sees a pass, somebody who can provide for the other striker.

A little bit of a number 10 or a 9 and a half. Something we haven’t got so something a little different.

We hope he will fit in the squad very well as he is different than the other strikers. He has some good link-up play and I hope it will take a lot of pressure off the other strikers. He can also come from the left and play on the right so he is very versatile.”

He will wear the squad number 21.
