BREWERS READY FOR INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY SAYS CAPTAIN

11 July 2015

THE BREWERS pre-season trip to Holland continues with a friendly against ADO Den Haag today.

Skipper John Mousinho  says that training trip has been a big success that should stand the squad in good stead come the start of the League One season.

He says: “We are staying at a really nice facility with good pitches and we are working hard. We have had double sessions every day. The lads are in a football environment, all together, we have good food and facilities so everyone is really enjoying it.

“Players love the pre-season trips. You get a chance to experience another country and get away from the scene back home.

“It’s nice for the squad to get away and really get together and get to know the new lads properly. So it’s all good.”

The Brewers played a training game against AFC Arnhem and came out 10-0 winners.

Mousinho says: “We took the training match as a competitive game. We changed the team at half time but took it seriously and we hit the back of the net ten times, got a clean sheet and got the job done. The more we get used to winning games and being competitive the better as the first game of the season will come around quicker than you think and we will be back in competitive football and we need to get that edge back.

The Brewers will face top flight Dutch side ADO Den Haag today (July 11). The international friendly will be a good test for the Brewers.

Mousinho says: “I think it will work both ways and will test them as well. We are happy with where our physicality is at this stage of pre-season but it will good to see where we are at compared with a top side in Europe.”

“It’s a great opportunity for us to play good football, get our fitness going and compete again. As friendly as these pre-season games are, all the players have got to where they are because they want to win and they do win games. It will be very interesting and we are all looking forward to it. “
