HOLLAND TRIP IS PROVING INVALUABLE FOR BREWERS

10 July 2015

BREWERS assistant manager David Oldfield has praised the Brewers first team squad for the hard work they are putting in on the pre-season trip to Holland.

He says: “The lads have been working very hard, several sessions a day at times.”

The Brewers have also notched up a 10-0 win over Dutch side AFC Arnhem.

Oldfield says: “We had a training match where we were looked after very well. It was a good game and a good exercise for us.

“We scored some goals. It was a good team performance and we got what we wanted out of the session which was very important.”

Now his thoughts turn to Saturday’s friendly against ADO Den Haag.

“It’s a great fixture for us and we will get some really good work out of it. It’s a significant step for us to play a team of the calibre of Den Haag but for where we are in our training it will be a fantastic exercise for us and we are looking forward to it.

“I think most of the players will play, although some may get a few more minutes than they have done recently.”

Over all, Oldfield believes the Holland trip is proving invaluable.

He says: “We have been looked after very well. The hotel has been good and the food has been excellent, which is very important.

“The boys have worked very hard and are crucially spending long periods of time together so with new faces in the group they are getting to know each other. The spirit has been good and the work has been good.”
