BURTON Albion defender George Taft is being loaned to League Two outfit Cambridge United.
Taft, part of Albion’s League Two-winning squad from last season, will join Cambridge until January 9.
He said: “Basically the plan is to go there and get some game-time, hopefully at centre half which is where I want to be playing in the future.
“I know Cambridge have a strong squad and are looking to do well. They came to the Pirelli last year and beat us and then when we played there in the last fixture of the season it was a tough game to get the win.
“I want to go in there and impress, to work as hard as I can and see where we end up.
“The gaffer thought it was a good idea for me to go there, get some games and hopefully improve my game.
“I’m now looking forward to getting more games on my CV. I played a lot of League Two matches last season and I can go straight in there knowing what to expect.”
