BURTON ALBION TO PLAY AWAY TO BOLTON WANDERERS IN THE CAPITAL ONE CUP

16 June 2015

Brewers to face The Trotters.

In the draw for the first round of the Capital One Cup, Burton Albion have been drawn away to Bolton Wanderers.

The Brewers will host Neil Lennon's Championship side for a place in the second round of the tournament, where Albion faced QPR last season.

The game will be played on the week commencing 10th August, and match details will be confirmed in due course.

Last season, the Brewers overturned two higher opposition sides before bowing out of the cup to Championship play-off semi-finalists Brighton and Hove Albion.

Wigan Athletic visited the Pirelli Stadium in the first round of the Capital One Cup of which Burton Albion ran out 2-1 winners which left a home tie with premiership side Queens Park Rangers.

Burton Albion were proving to be no pushovers in the competition as they then went on to beat QPR thanks to a curling Adam McGurk free-kick from 20 yards.

Burton Albion were finally knocked out of the Capital One Cup after a battling 3-0 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion.
