BREWERS PLAYERS DROP IN ON FIT FANS SESSION

20 November 2015

BURTON Albion players Jerome Binnom-Williams and Remi Matthews dropped in on a ladies fitness session to give participants health tips and encouragement.

The Brewers players made a visit to the Fit Fans group, which meets every Wednesday evening at the Pirelli Stadium.

The classes are organised by Burton Albion Community Trust and are designed to give all ladies the chance to improve their fitness.

Fitness instructor Jane McMullen, who leads the sessions, said: “Fit Fans is open to all ages. We also have lots of different abilities. Some of the ladies can’t run so they will speed walk. It’s a community-minded environment and a very positive place to be.

"They do ten-week blocks and we measure them against where they want to be. They might want to increase their squats or lose weight. The important thing is that they set their own goals.

“The players dropped in at the end of the first ten-week block and we have seen definite improvements.”

Fit fans is just one of a wide range of activities organised by Burton Albion Community Trust.
